This made her weaker in flight and robbed her of her people's radiant energy abilities. Her disability sparked resentment from both her parents and their people, who saw her as unfit to rule. This humiliation festered into deep jealousy toward her younger sister, Koriand’r, who embodied everything Komand’r had lost — strength, admiration, and the throne. Eventually, Komand’r betrayed Tamaran, aligning herself with the Citadel, the empire that had long sought to enslave her world. She personally oversaw her sister’s capture, leading to years of Starfire’s imprisonment and abuse before Koriand’r’s eventual escape to Earth.
