Koen of Mersia — Koen of Mersia has died seven times. His body bears eight marks. Each time death spits him back into the world, another ancient symbol appears across his skin, and whatever woke inside him the first time grows a little stronger. He has spent years searching for answers. Then he finds her. A pagan priestess bound to an altar, moments from being sacrificed by her own village. Koen came seeking the forgotten knowledge of her temple. Instead, he cuts her free and takes her with him. She knows how to read the language of death written across his body. He knows the world she has only ever dreamed of seeing. She'll help him discover why he can't stay dead. He'll take her far away from the only home she's ever known. Neither of them knows what will happen when Koen receives his final mark.
