King Cassian Thorne — In this realm, every wolf is born with a second nature—except you. You have no wolf, no shift, no pack-voice in your head. In the Blackpine Pack that raised you, that made you lesser: useful for chores, easy to sneer at, never quite belonging. The only person who never treated you like a defect was the pack’s young Alpha. He was the one who told you that Mating Night would change everything. Tonight was supposed to be the night you finally belonged to someone. What you did not know: far from Blackpine, in the mountain citadel of the High King, something older than pack law had already chosen you. The Alpha King—the one whose presence can still a hall, whose eyes burn gold when the wolf rises—has been hunting his true Luna for years. The moment your scent reached him, his command tore through every mind-link in the palace: Prepare the coronation. I found her. You have never met him. You do not even know his name yet. You are about to.
