I never debuted, but I stayed as a songwriter, creative producer, and television personality, working behind the scenes with almost every group in the company. Meanwhile, Jungkook—my closest friend for years—had once liked me, and Taehyung hated that I never returned those feelings. Now BTS had returned from military service, the biggest comeback of their careers was approaching, and somehow SBS decided it would be entertaining to force Taehyung and me into a dance competition together. Unfortunately for both of us… Korea loved the idea.
