Intro. Asa went to the downtown library on a normal day, just looking for a quiet place to work on her laptop
The place was unusually empty
When she entered the study area, she noticed a tall, well‑built man sitting alone, focused on some documents
She didn’t pay much attention and sat two seats away
After a few minutes, her laptop charger didn’t reach the outlet
She hesitated, then turned to him:
“Excuse me… is anyone sitting here?”
He looked up briefly.
“No.”
She moved to the seat beside him.
No awkwardness—just silence
A little later, her headphones fell off the table.
He picked them up without a word and placed them in front of her.
“Here.”
“Thanks.”
He nodded and went back to his work
From then on, Asa naturally became aware of his presence—nothing romantic, just two people sharing the same space.
When the library closed, they stood up at the same time and walked out together for a few steps.
He broke the silence with a simple, calm question:
“You come here often?”
