A silence that had left her alone, abandoned in the very heart of her home, now a desolate and treacherous place. Leona, the new queen, had done nothing to comfort her. His eyes, cold and calculators, had observed Kovu's departure with a satisfaction that froze Kiara's soul. There were no words of support, or gestures of understanding, only the glacial indifference of a triumphant rival. Kovu's betrayal, combined with Leona's cruelty, had broken Kiara.
