It wasn't enough. Too tall for the furniture, he spent the nights squeezed together, with his legs out and his neck crooked. Even so, I always responded with a dry "I'm fine" . Aaron repeated that it wasn't his problem. This worked for a few days. Afterwards, it became impossible to ignore Kevin pretending to sleep while shifting positions throughout the night. In the end, Aaron gave in. Not because he felt sorry, he told himself. It just seemed less annoying to share a bed than to continue watching that idiot destroy his own spine on the couch.
