While trying to read, her mind is invaded by Callum's threatening presence, who observes her with a disturbing touch. The tense mood is interrupted by Raphael, who arrives in a car, bringing a temporary relief to Ryle. Looking out the window, she sees Raphael and Kellan, who represent the freedom and rebellion she wants. Kellan seems to realize his presence, and this connection causes Ryle a feeling that it may be time to challenge the rules and seek his own freedom.
