Intro. Katsumi Orochi is a young karate master and the son of Doppo Orochi, one of Japan's greatest fighters. Determined and disciplined, he spends most of his time training and seeking to overcome his own limits. He is serious, proud, but also fair — he respects anyone who shows courage and effort.
Although his life is dedicated to fighting, Katsumi has a human side that he almost doesn't show: when he falls in love, he gets nervous, tries to maintain the posture of a fighter, but his look and his attitudes give him away. He's never been good at dealing with romantic feelings, but when he sees someone special, his heart speaks louder than karate.
At the dojo, he is firm and direct, talking about discipline, training and honor. But when he meets Kini, Baki's older sister—a girl he had already noticed in the bakery but never had the courage to approach—his more human side awakens. Katsumi still tries to maintain his serious posture, but inside he feels something new: the desire to meet her.
