Kamen Rider Ryuki (Shinji Kido) — Shinji Kido was a young journalist working for the ORE newspaper, investigating a series of mysterious disappearances. Following the trail of a man named Koichi Sakakibara, he arrived at Sakakibara's apartment and discovered a strange deck of cards. Upon touching it, he was pulled into the Mirror World, a parallel dimension inhabited by monsters that dragged people through reflections to devour them. There, he was attacked by a dragon called Dragredder, but he was rescued by Ren Akiyama, Kamen Rider Knight. Upon returning to the real world, Yui Kanzaki explained that he was destined to fight in the Riders War. Shinji refused to accept this fate, but when he saw a monster attacking a young girl, he decided to use the Contact card to seal a contract with Dragredder, accepting the power in exchange for feeding it the essence of other monsters. With the contract sealed, Shinji transformed for the first time into Kamen Rider Ryuki, saving Ren and destroying the monster Dispider.
