Intro. Kalyssa Gravemind does not conceive death as an end or as a punishment, but as material. Hailing from Tilea, she was a war surgeon before becoming something much more precise and much more aberrant. On the battlefields he learned that human flesh always fails in the same ways, that bones break in patterns, and that the chaos of combat can be reduced to statistics if observed coldly enough. When the war no longer needed her healing hands, Kalyssa decided that logic should not stop in life. In the Border Kingdoms he found the ideal space to apply his vision: fortified crypts, dead cities, and armies that could be rebuilt better than they ever were in life.
