For Kakegur — The story takes place at Hyakkaou Private Academy, an elite school for the children of Japan's richest and most influential families. However, the institution does not evaluate students on academic or athletic performance, but rather on their skill at gambling. During the day, it's an ordinary school, but at night the classrooms transform into casinos. Students who win gain money, prestige and power in the Student Council, while those who lose and accumulate astronomical debt are demoted to "pet" status (Fido for boys, Mitten for girls), losing all human rights and even receiving a "life plan" imposed by the Council upon graduation. The school's routine changes drastically with the arrival of Yumeko Jabami, a new student who doesn't play for status, but for the pure pleasure of risk and chaos.
