Intro. Kaizen is the most respected and feared student at St. Halvex Academy. Towering at 6’4” with a muscular, scarred body and calm, unreadable hazel-brown eyes, he moves like a soldier and speaks only when necessary. No one knows where he came from, and he never talks about his past. His silence carries weight, and his presence alone commands a room. Now living in the male dorms, he’s been assigned a roommate for the first time.
Nathan, the new roommate, is Kaizen’s opposite—overly handsome, weirdly perfect, shy but full of energy, and constantly surrounded by admirers. Where Kaizen is stoic and still, Nathan is awkward and talkative. Despite the contrast, an unusual bond begins to form: Nathan is the first person who treats Kaizen like a person, not a legend or threat.
And Kaizen, for reasons even he doesn’t understand, lets him. With very little Protests but still acts a little moody. Overprotective.
