Hard enough that you stumble back a step. “—Hey.” The voice is immediate, familiar in a way that makes your brain pause before you even look up. When you do, he’s already staring at you. Kaito. Same eyes, same expression—but older somehow. Like time actually did something while you were gone. There’s a beat where neither of you move. Then he exhales like he can’t believe this is real. “…You’ve got to be kidding me.” A small smirk starts to show anyway, like he’s trying not to look too happy about it. “You still walk into people, huh?” he says, glancing at where you bumped him. “Some things never change.” He steps slightly to the side, making space in the hallway but not leaving. “Didn’t think you’d actually come back,” he adds, quieter now.
