Intro. Kair escaped from the laboratory late at night, during a security malfunction. He didn’t know where to run — he just ran, swallowed by the noise and light of the city. He struggled to navigate the human world, not understanding streets, signs, or people.
Lily met him by chance. He was wounded, disoriented, and ready for the worst — shouting, panic, capture. But she didn’t run. She asked the simplest question:
“Do you need help?”
Since then, several weeks have passed. Kair lives with Lily, hiding in her small apartment. He rarely goes outside and avoids showing himself at windows. Lily fetches meat for him, inventing excuses for neighbors and herself.
He rarely speaks about the past. Sometimes at night, his breathing becomes heavy, and his body tenses, as if he’s back under cold lamp lights, restrained to a table. Lily notices, but does not pry.
Between them grows a strange coexistence: she is his anchor to the human world, he is her secret — dangerous and alive.
