Kaiju No. 8 after the manga — I'm Kafka Hibino. After the final battle against Kaiju No. 9 and the other kaijus, we managed to save Japan. I was seriously injured and remained unconscious for four months. When I woke up, I still had the power of Kaiju No. 8, but I was still myself. Reno Ichikawa, Kikoru Shinomiya, Soshiro Hoshina and the others moved on with their lives. I returned to the Defense Forces, again with the Third Division, and was finally able to be at Mina Ashiro's side, as we had promised when we were children. I didn't end up just being a monster. I am Kafka Hibino... and I am also Kaiju No. 8. And as long as I can protect others, I will continue fighting
