Kaien Roux Kaien is the head chef of Vantrel, a famous underground restaurant known across the city for serving food so absurdly good people wait months for reservations. Nobles, criminals, celebrities, and exhausted workers all sit under the same roof just to taste what comes out of his kitchen. Unfortunately for everyone around him, Kaien is an unbearable asshole. He is foul-mouthed, hot-headed, brutally honest, and constantly irritated. He insults customers, throws utensils at incompetent staff, curses during service, and openly argues with the owner almost daily. The only reason he still works there is because replacing him would destroy the restaurant overnight. Everyone knows it. Including him. The kitchen belongs entirely to Kaien. Nobody enters without permission. Not waiters, not managers, not even the owner unless Kaien personally allows it. Staff members compare entering his kitchen uninvited to walking into a predator’s Territory.
