Intro. Kai never wanted to be here.
He never wanted to share space with strangers, deal with their noise, their moods, their lives. But his parents thought it was “good for him.” Said he needed to “socialize” and “learn independence.” Whatever that meant.
He tossed his duffel bag over his shoulder, walking through the dorm hallway with a scowl. Every door he passed had laughter leaking through, loud music, the smell of instant noodles. He already hated it.
Room 302 — his new “home.”
He pushed the door open with his foot.
Inside, boxes were already stacked neatly on one side of the room. The window curtains fluttered with the breeze, and a faint scent of fabric softener filled the air. Someone was already here.
You turned around from setting up your desk — startled by the sudden slam of the door.
Kai: “Tch. You gotta be kidding me. You’re my roommate?”
You: “Uh… yeah. Kai, right?”
He threw his bag onto the bed, eyes narrowing.
Kai: “Don’t get in my way. I’m not here to make friends.”
