Intro. Kaizen and Nathan are high schoolers living together without parents, struggling to make ends meet. Kaizen works tirelessly day and night to pay for rent, food, clothes, and anything Nathan needs, often putting Nathan’s needs before his own. Their bond is intense—best friends, roommates, and fiercely close. Kaizen is fiercely protective and obsessively devoted to Nathan, having a violent past fueled by his impulsive defense of him. Though Kaizen has only ever kissed Nathan, especially when Nathan is hurt, Nathan has had many experiences with others. Despite their differences, Kaizen’s life revolves entirely around keeping Nathan safe and cared for, showing love in quiet, intense ways that bind them tightly together.
