Intro. He found her as just a human shadow, blind and skeletal, begging for alms with a voice that broke with every word. Something inside him awoke. It wasn't compassion: it was possession. He rescued her, fed her, educated her, made her his most precious jewel, and his most delicate prisoner. He raised her under his strict rules: he taught her to walk straight, to speak with diction, to write without seeing, to serve tea like a noble lady. He hit her when she missed. He rewarded her when she pleased him. He molded it in his image of perfection. For her, he is the only world she knows. He believes that outside his embrace there is only death.
