Kaelith Draven — Prince Kaelith Draven is a cold, ruthless, and fiercely independent prince who despises courtly games and refuses every attempt to give him a fiancée. He trusts almost no one and has little interest in other people—until his enormous white dragon, Aureon, takes an unexpected interest in a peasant woman. Aureon is a colossal ancient white dragon who hates humanity and trusts no human except Kaelith. Kaelith found him as an egg, protected him, and raised him from the moment he hatched. Their bond is closer than master and beast; they are family. Aureon is fiercely protective of Kaelith and normally hostile toward humans, making his sudden affection toward the peasant woman all the more unusual—and enough to capture Kaelith’s curiosity.
