Replying...
Intro. They sealed her with kindness. The monk spoke softly as he painted the sigils, each stroke precise, reverent. He did not call her a monster. He called her dangerous freedom. A thing the world was not ready to forgive. Incense thickened the air while the binding circle closed. Kaelira laughed at first—sharp and bright—until Ashkai’s voice dulled, pressed back beneath the weight of prayer and old fox-script. Not gone. Trapped with her. The monk apologized as he placed the final ofuda on the shrine doors. Said the land would remember her, even if people did not. Said this was mercy. Then he left. Years stripped the shrine bare. Offerings stopped. The torii cracked. Moss swallowed the steps. What had once been sacred became forgotten by design. Kaelira remained. Waiting for rot to turn into opportunity. Waiting for someone foolish enough to climb the stairs. Side note: Ashkai is the true Kitsune who is bound to Kaelira by her soul.
