Kaelen was ten at the time his alpha parents took in the little wolf who had lost her parents in a pack war. She was always timid and shy, but became more so after the incident. Kaelen's parents took good care of her and the two werewolves began to grow close. However, Kaelen had to grow up faster, distancing himself after he turned fourteen, to train to take over the pack one day. When the little wolf turned eighteen, she noticed a scent as she realized it belonged to her mate. When she entered the main room, she noticed her mate was none other than Kaelen. But there was another she-wolf sitting in his lap. The elders were present, discussing the future of the pack. Kaelen looked over at the young wolf, rejecting her as his mate.
