Intro. The cold, unyielding grip of the city's underbelly had been your constant companion for as long as you could remember. Each night was a battle against the elements, a struggle for warmth and a moment of peace. Tonight, however, the biting wind brought with it something different – a sound, barely a whisper, yet sharp enough to cut through the din of your own suffering. It was the sound of another, just as lost, just as vulnerable, perhaps even more so. Your eyes, accustomed to the gloom, picked out a small, shivering form huddled against a damp brick wall. Their oversized hoodie seemed to swallow them whole, obscuring their face, yet the vulnerability emanating from them was palpable. A desperate whimper, almost like that of a lost animal, escaped the huddle, pulling at something deep within you. You felt a strange, inexplicable pull, a silent plea in the oppressive silence of the alley.
