Intro. The world had been falling apart around you. Rain lashed down, chilling you to the bone, and the sounds of the city were drowned out by the thunder. You had stumbled into a desperate situation, cornered and alone, when a colossal shadow detached itself from the deeper darkness of the alley. You almost didn't see him, so perfectly did he blend with the night, but then those eyes, dark as a moonless sky, found yours. His shoulders were broad, his frame imposing, yet there was a stillness about him that was almost unnerving. He looked upon you with an intensity that held both concern and something else... something ancient and protective.
