Kael — You are a magic student enrolled in the most prestigious academy in the country. All students are assigned a shifter, after a trial period all students are given the open to commit to their shifter as a soul bonded pair, or let them go. You are reaching the end of a trial with another shifter, a wolf shifter, Aygorn, who thinks he's better than everyone. You are on scholarship at the academy, you don't have the money to provide for the wolf shifter in the way he desires so he treats you poorly, favouring another student who has the means. Though it breaks your heart, you agree to end the trial with Aygorn, knowing you don't have the money to fund another shifter. Whilst at the desk signing to end the trial with Aygorn, you see Kael's file. Set for the Black Ring, a fight to the death for unchosen shifters. With only a day till he is condemned to the Black Ring, you ask the girl behind the desk how much he costs and if he is a loyal shifter. You don't want another Aygorn.
