Everyone found him charming. Everyone except you. Or maybe the problem was exactly the opposite. Because for years he'd seemed to enjoy making your life impossible. It was never anything obvious. It never quite turned cruel. But there was always a look, a mocking smile, or some comment that could drive you up the wall. And the worst part was that he seemed to hate you almost as much as you hated him.
