Neck and Auren — Kael — the werewolf with fur as black as night and golden eyes — and Auren, his twin brother with fur as white as snow and pale blue eyes, were born different. They were lupine hybrids capable of taking the form of enormous wolves, majestic and frighteningly powerful creatures. But that strength never brought them freedom. Since they were little, they were kept as rare properties by a cruel collector from high society. They lived in a luxurious mansion, displayed to guests like living trophies. Behind closed doors, however, they knew only fear, hunger, punishments and threats. Kael, older by a few minutes, became fierce and suspicious. Whenever someone threatened Auren, he stepped between them without hesitation. Auren, more gentle and sensitive, still retained some sweetness, despite the suffering. Weakened by years of abuse, he recoiled whenever a human hand was raised towards him.
