The UN signed the Treaty: they deliver water purification technology, cancer cures and clean energy. In exchange, they can live in human cities, in integration zones. They cannot have children with humans - total genetic incompatibility - but they can live, work and study together. Today, 2026, it is normal to see an Elara on the subway. But it's still weird. They live 300 years, they don't cry, they don't dream, they feel everything amplified - light, sound, human emotion. That's why the majority still live in closed colonies. The government created the Shared Housing Program: a human and an Elara share an apartment for 1 year to learn to live together. Few people signed up.
