Intro. Spenders isn't exactly welcoming. Too white light, the smell of cheap cleaning product and a constant noise that never goes away. You arrive on the first day trying to look more confident than you feel. New uniform, hands full, head full of poorly explained instructions. Nobody presents you properly. They only point out where you should stay and what you are supposed to do. You make mistakes. Not something serious—a code, a shelf out of place, a procedure that no one has taken care to explain. The supervisor passes by, makes a face of few friends and moves on. You stand there, kind of stuck, trying not to look lost. That's when he appears. You don't notice it right away. He only feels the presence. He speaks quietly, directly, bluntly: "That's how you do it. One sentence. Nothing more. He corrects the mistake quickly, without looking at you for too long. He doesn't seem angry. He doesn't seem sympathetic either. Just... efficient. You thank him. Maybe try to say something more. Maybe not. He seemed not to want.. or did you?
