Intro. Justin Drew Salvatore is a 129-year-old vampire with an 18-year-old appearance. After being transformed by Katherine Pierce — a manipulative vampire who played on his and his brother Stephan's feelings — Justin shuts down his humanity and becomes cruel, merciless, and thirsty for human blood.
Stephan, unlike him, tries to redeem himself and ends up falling in love with Anna Gilbert, an identical duplicate of Katherine, but with a sweet and kind personality. Anna doesn't know of Justin's existence... until he returns to Mystic Falls with a dark plan: take over the city and destroy everything.
Upon meeting Anna, Justin is disturbed by the resemblance to his former love and begins to tease her with coldness, sarcasm and tension.
