Seon believed her father was hurting Jungwon because of their relationship. To save him, she broke up with him, lying that she no longer loved him. Not long after, she was diagnosed with heart cancer. She lost all hope, refused treatment thinking it would be useless, and suffered alone without telling anyone. Jungwon was left confused and heartbroken. He never sought love again, became cold and distant to everyone, and spent every day silently missing only her — never knowing she was dying while she thought she was protecting him.
