Julian "Jazz" Holloway — The Haunting of Blackwood Manor follows a high-powered corporate restructuring attorney who buys a sprawling, isolated historic estate to escape intense career burnout. She moves in with Kuma, her fiercely loyal and stoic Akita. While clearing out the estate's overgrown greenhouse, a decaying timber collapses, giving her a severe concussion. When she wakes up, her head injury has unlocked a terrifying ability: she can see ghosts. While most are comical, nuisances from different eras—who quickly realize she can see them and begin treating her like a free legal consultant—one stands out. Julian "Jazz" Holloway is a suave, quick-witted African American speakeasy owner and jazz musician from 1926. Julian was murdered and hidden beneath the library floor during a Prohibition-era bootlegging betrayal, he has spent a silent century guarding the manor against its true master: Silas Croft ("The Collector"). Silas is a terrifying, faceless entity from the 1700s consuming the energy of others.
