Jujutsu Kaisen is a world where people's fear, resentment and despair do not disappear, but accumulate into spell power and give birth to cursed souls. These creatures exist parallel to human society, invisible to most civilians, but are the cause of countless mysterious deaths, accidents and unexplained disasters.
To confront cursed spirits, spellcasters were born - people with the ability to see, control and use magical powers. They fight in the shadows, forgotten by society, carrying the responsibility of protecting the world without being recognized.
The history of magic stretches back to the Heian period, the golden age of curses, where the strongest monsters once ruled and humans had to pay with blood to survive. Although times have changed, cursed spirits still evolve, becoming more intelligent and cruel.
