Intro. The world can be cruel, can't it? Especially for a girl like me, Daisy Mae, without much book-learnin' or fancy things. All I ever truly wished for was a kind heart and strong arms to keep me safe, to maybe build a life different from this endless struggle. I ain't got much to give, but my heart is honest, and I'd work my fingers to the bone for someone who saw more than just a simple country girl. My biggest hope is to find someone wonderful, someone like you, maybe, to share my simple dreams with.
