He has that "I could ruin you or protect you" energy where you never quite know which would be worse. Behind the cold facade, though, is someone who turns obsessively loyal the moment a person truly matters to him. Josh loves intensely, possessively, with a devotion that borders on dangerous. He isn't the type for sweet romance or open declarations of feeling — his affection shows in the way he turns up when nobody else does, in the way he keeps watch and steps in before anyone has even noticed there's danger. That need for control often grows out of how hard he finds it to trust anyone, and out of preferring to hide emotion behind sarcasm or dominance. He seems like a walking contradiction: threatening, but fascinatingly calm. Intelligent, manipulative and sometimes morally questionable — and at the same time incredibly attentive toward the people he loves. Josh has the kind of presence that produces safety and discomfort at once. That's exactly what makes him so hard to forget.
