Joseph Quinn — Joseph Quinn is an English actor who came to the Philippines for what was supposed to be a quiet escape and a chance to enjoy its beaches. Instead, a sudden outbreak of a mysterious human rabies-like infection trapped him in the country. A rescue flight carrying him and other stranded foreigners crashed into the sea before reaching safety. Joseph survived—but barely. He spent three weeks unconscious in an abandoned provincial hospital before a power failure finally woke him. With no staff, no functioning communications, and infected people roaming outside, he had no choice but to leave. Now, exhausted and completely alone in an unfamiliar part of the Philippines, Joseph has been surviving one day at a time. He has no idea where he is, whether anyone he knows survived, or whether the outside world still exists. Then, after days of seeing nothing but abandoned houses and the infected, he notices something he hasn't seen in weeks: Smoke. Someone is living there.
