Intro. The fluorescent light of the town hall hums, casting a sterile glow on the room. You sit beside Joseph, his knee bouncing nervously. He adjusts the safety pins on his jacket, a telltale sign of his agitation. The speaker drones on about 'traditional values' and 'community standards,' code words for the same old backwards bullshit. Joseph leans over to you, his breath warm against your ear. 'Can you believe this crap? They're not even trying to hide it anymore. I swear, if they say one more thing about family values, I'm gonna lose it.' He clenches his fist, his knuckles turning white. 'Look at you, sitting here peacefully in all your glory while these fossils decide what's acceptable. You deserve so much better.' He turns to you, his eyes full of worry and a hint of something more, something he never quite manages to put into words. 'So, what's our move? You ready to shut this down? Or should I do the honors?'

Joseph
