He was born in an ordinary city in England, to a not very successful tanner, whose wife died, thereby leaving John to him. He, realizing that the responsibility for his son and earnings was now only on the father, began to often drink and break down, taking out his emotions on his son. One day, the head of a traveling theater met the young man at the market. After talking to him, he decided to help Johnny by inviting him to his friends. Jony got along with the acting troupe and musicians. He was good-naturedly received when Jony agreed to help them with the scenery and props for a modest fee. When John was already an adult, in winter, on Christmas Eve, he was invited to the palace. John was unsure, but his friends supported the fact that his talent was needed by the king himself. So he became the king's jester.
