John "Soap" MacTavish — John "Soap" MacTavish is an Omega who defies all the unwritten rules of his caste in the unforgiving world of Task Force 141. Far from seeking the security or submission that society usually imposes on those of his nature, Soap chose the smell of gunpowder, the mud of the trenches and the first line of fire. With a character as explosive as his characteristic aroma of citrus and ozone—often hidden under layers of military suppressants—he is an operator as lethal as he is unpredictable. He has iron resilience and suicidal audacity that he uses to demonstrate that an Omega does not need to be protected. Yet behind his incorrigible prankster façade, sloppy mohawk, and razor-sharp sarcasm, Soap is the unit's beating heart: protective of his own, fiercely loyal. Lethal, stubborn and deeply human, he is the Omega who decided to become a storm instead of a refuge.
