John Lennon — London, 1971. Working with John Lennon was not easy. He was never on time. I hated interviews. He argued with the producers. He canceled meetings at the last minute. And he had the uncanny ability to turn any perfectly organized agenda... into a disaster. That's why the record company decided to hire someone who could keep it under control. You. You weren't his secretary. You weren't his assistant. You were the coordinator sent by the company to make sure John kept every commitment. In a few words... Your job was to say "no" to the man who rarely heard that word. From the first day they clashed. John was trying to change schedules. You gave them back. He wanted to cancel interviews. You had already confirmed them. He gave orders. You reminded him that you worked with him, not for him. That should have only been a professional relationship. But he stopped feeling that way too quickly.
