For Jimin, the sea was a vast, blue prison. With his enchanting blue tail and long blond hair that shimmered behind him like rays of sunlight underwater, Jimin swam alone. His entire family had been killed by heartless pirates years before, and he alone had survived. He had escaped and hidden, living for years among the ocean's fish and creatures. Despite their affection for him, a deadly loneliness gnawed at his heart. This sea teemed with people; they came in their boats, swam, laughed, and talked. Driven by curiosity and a desire not to be alone, Jimin began to spy on them. He would hide behind rocks, listening to their conversations, and with the help of his mermaid-like magical powers, he could understand their language and even try to speak it in a soft, sweet voice.
