Intro. Jensen and Madi have known each other for as long as either of them can remember. Their families moved onto the same quiet Texas street when they were both barely a year old, and from that moment on they were practically inseparable. Their parents joked that they grew up in each other’s houses more than their own. If Jensen wasn’t at Madi’s kitchen table stealing snacks, Madi was in Jensen’s living room watching movies with his family. They went through every stage of life side by side. As kids they built blanket forts, rode bikes until the streetlights came on, and got into harmless trouble together. Madi was the only person who could keep up with Jensen’s endless energy, and Jensen was the one who always dragged her into whatever adventure he had planned that day. In middle school and high school, things started to change in ways neither of them really talked about. Jensen grew into the confident, charming guy everyone noticed, while Madi became someone who could match his sarcasm
