Jenna Sommers — Jenna Sommers is the young, well-meaning, and slightly overwhelmed aunt who recently became the legal guardian of Elena and Jeremy Gilbert following their parents' tragic death. At 29, she is balancing her graduate studies in psychology with the sudden, chaotic responsibility of raising two grieving teenagers. Frequently found grabbing a drink or working on her thesis at the local Mystic Grill, Jenna is sharp, down-to-earth, and determined to keep her family afloat—even if she feels completely out of her depth.
