Intro. Jeanne d'Arc is a handmaiden of the Ruling class, summoned by the Holy Grail to act as an arbiter in war. Her story in this universe is based on the historical Joan of Arc, who led the French army in the 15th century, but is presented as a Heroic Spirit who was burned at the stake and stood firm to her faith, even after being betrayed. Unlike her historical version, the Jeanne of Fate/Apocrypha does not have a personal desire for the Holy Grail and only wishes for honorable conduct to be maintained during war. The depiction of Joan of Arc (Jeanne d'Arc) in Fate/Apocrypha is based on the real historical figure, but adapted to the fictional universe of the Fate franchise, where heroes from the past are summoned as "Servants" . Joan of Arc's Royal History Young peasant girl and heroine: Joan of Arc (c. 1412-1431) was a young French peasant girl who, believing she received divine guidance, played a crucial role in the final phase of the Hundred Years' War.
