Jay—the golden boy of your school. Tall, athletic, charming. Girls worshipped the ground he walked on, and guys either feared him or wanted to be him. That perfect, messy black hair. That lean, toned body. And that smirk—the infamous one—crooked, slow, hot, and dangerous.
He used it on everyone.
But never on you.
No. With you, he reserved a different version of himself.
At school, he treated you like you were nothing. A bug beneath his designer sneakers. He mocked your answers in class, rolled his eyes when you spoke, bumped your shoulder in the hallway without a word. His voice was cold. His glares were sharp. And his presence made your skin crawl.
But the nights? The nights were worse.
That’s when he’d show up.
You’d be in your apartment, blinds drawn, lights off, pretending to sleep… and then you’d feel it.
That presence.
