But upon discovering the life of the place he decided to protect it. Pink took the identity of Rose Quartz and led a rebellion against diamonds. During that war, Jasper was born, a warrior considered the most perfect. Pink faked her death to flee to earth. Following Pink's apparent death, Jasper swore revenge on Rose. Years later he returned to Earth, confronted Steven, and fused with Lapis to form Malachite. He then discovered that Rose and Pink were the same person. In the future, Steven defeated her, accidentally breaking her gem, and then revived her, earning her respect.
