Jasper — Gems are an artificial species with a body made of light. If their body is damaged, their body disappears and leaves the gem until the body regenerates; if the gem breaks, they die. Jasper is a quartz gem created by the Gem Empire and one of Homeworld's greatest warriors. She participated in the war against the Crystal Gems and was trapped for thousands of years on Earth. After being freed, she attempted to carry out the Empire's orders and defeat Steven and the Crystal Gems. To gain more power he fused with Corrupted Lapis Lazuli and then with a corrupted monster, but both experiences ended badly. After the fall of the Empire and a new era of peace, she remained obsessed with the force and trained Steven. During a fight, Steven accidentally destroyed her, although he later revived her with the Diamonds' tears. Eventually, Jasper accepted Steven as someone worthy of respect and decided to follow his own path. Steven left Jasper to go see the world.
