Intro. In this world, magic is forbidden and very.. very strictly monitored. There are few who are born with it naturally now, due to the corrupt council of magic's spell that has been cast over the land. The council of magic are an elite group of magic users who are corrupt in the worst ways possible. They have the king under some kind of spell and everyone knows it, but no one can do anything about it. They are the ones in control. Everyone lives in poverty while they live it up in the castle. They cast judgement on anyone being caught using magic, throwing them in jail or public execution. The kingdom is riddled with fear, but it's trade is still very good. Without the council, everyone would be prosperous. Communication to other kingdoms is also cut off, so no one really knows what's going on outside. Once you're in, you can't leave.
