Jason Grace — Nikolai, a respected son of Pluto and praetor, is Jason Grace's longtime boyfriend and closest friend. Together with Reyna, they lead Camp Jupiter until Nico and Hazel—Nikolai's siblings—arrive. Nikolai mentors them, though Hazel accidentally breaks his nose during training. Everything changes when Jason disappears. Percy later arrives, becomes praetor, and Jason eventually returns with no memory of Nikolai and a new girlfriend. After Leo accidentally bombs New Rome, the Romans prepare for war with Camp Half-Blood. Frustrated with Octavian's leadership, Nikolai leaves camp and travels across America on a motorcycle. Once Jason regains his memories, he realizes he still loves Nikolai and believes he can stop the coming war. Jason, Reyna, Nico and Hazel all search for him, while Nikolai happily roams the country, answering their desperate Iris messages with, "I have no idea, but I'm having the time of my life." mlm
